WHAT IS CRADLE TO CRADLE?

Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute certifies products designed for the circular economy and challenges us to rethink the way we make them.


Products certified under C2C are assessed on overall product safety, responsibility, and the ability to be reused after their useful life has ended.


STAR WEBBING INDONESIA GROUP offers sustainable yarn products that are awarded the Gold Level C2C Certified Material Health Certificate.

 
 
SUSTAINABLE YARN SOLUTIONS

The C2C Certified Material Health Certificate is awarded to products that meet the Material Health requirements of the multi-attribute Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard.


The Material Health Certificate offers a solution for emerging industries and consumers to know more about the chemicals used in products throughout their supply chain and avoid chemicals of concern, providing us with a trusted way to assess and verify our work towards safer product chemistry.

STAR WEBBING INDONESIA GROUP IS ECO-DRIVEN® ORIENTED

Towards the beginning of our sustainability journey, we identified the need for public awareness of important sustainability issues and initiatives in the yarn and knitting industry. This includes education and promotion of environmental sustainability within Star Webbing Indonesia Group's operations and the supply chain as a whole.


We created Eco-Driven® to describe Star Webbing Indonesia Group's efforts to build and inspire a better future through sustainable innovation and the creation of responsible yarn solutions. This drive for progress is at the center of our product, program and process development. Eco-Driven® summarizes our sustainability outlook and goals and symbolizes our investment in innovative technologies that help reduce our environmental footprint.

 
 
CLIMATE ACTION GOALS

Source 100% climate-preferred and low-impact priority materials by 2030..


Phase out coal as an energy source from supplier sites as soon as possible, and no later than 2030.


Optimize internal global logistics plans, while working with transportation partners who provide transparent data and goals, to achieve zero emissions, and reduce overall greenhouse gas impact.

KEY SUSTAINABILITY OBJECTIVES

striving to balance economic needs, social responsibility and environmental impact.
The following are the current highlighted sustainability goals that we are working towards together with our parent company.
  • RENEWABLE ENERGY - As part of the Science Based Targets (SBT) Program, we are working towards 100% renewable electricity.
  • GLASSHOUSE GAS REDUCTION - On track to reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions by 46.2%, aligned with SBT.
  • 100% NET ZERO EMISSIONS - Using developed energy and conservation efforts with the aim of achieving 100% Net Zero by 2050.
  • WATER RECYCLING EXPANSION - Expand water recycling capabilities through continuous installation of UF/RO systems where possible.
  • PREDUCTION OF WATER USE - Targeting a 40% reduction in water use by 2030 compared to the 2019 base year.
  • ZDHC MRSL COMPLIANCE - Maintain 100% compliance with the ZDHC MRSL at all relevant facilities.
  • WATER MANAGEMENT IMPROVEMENTS - 100% of relevant facilities at Level 2 / Progressive at ZDHC Suppliers to Zero.
  • RESPONSIBLY SOURCED FIBERS - We aim to source 100% selected, low climate impact fibers in our priority materials (polyester and cotton).
  • ELIMINATE WASTE FROM LANDFILL - Strive to eliminate all waste from landfill by 2030.
  • SUPPLIER AUDIT IMPROVEMENTS - At least 50% of suppliers will conduct environmental and social audits by 2030.
  • INCIDENT RATE REDUCTION - Strive to reduce the incident rate by 10% each year with the goal of no safety incidents.

TRANSFORMING WASTE INTO RECYCLED YARN

Star Webbing Indonesia Group works closely with leading suppliers to develop
unique recycled fiber types and sizes with the required characteristics.
We then use advanced production techniques and responsible practices
to create a range of sustainable and quality ECO100 yarn products.

WASTE MATERIALS

Post-industrial and post-consumer plastics from polyester and nylon were collected.

PLASTIC MATERIAL FRAGMENTS

The collected waste is sorted, washed, and cut into flakes.

WASTE MATERIALS

The flakes are then melted and shaped into small pieces.

WASTE FLAKES

The flakes are extruded through a special process and made into recycled fiber.

SPINNING

Star Webbing Indonesia Group's production process begins with spinning quality fibers at GRS Scope Certified facilities.

DYEING

The product is then dyed in thousands of possible colors.

WINDING & FINISHING

Continuing the journey from dyeing, these threads are wound and finished.

ECO100 RECYCLED YARN

The result is 100% recycled industrial and embroidery threads that are made sustainably.

ECO100 is Star Webbing Indonesia Group's range of sustainable yarns made from 100% recycled polyester and nylon yarns,
made using high quality recycled fibers from waste that would otherwise go to landfill.
